| EASTER AT TRICITY CHURCH

When Jesus entered Jerusalem on the day we now call Palm Sunday, the crowds cheered his name and praised God. It seemed at first that it would be a week of celebration, but there was conflict simmering beneath the surface—a conflict that Jesus himself seemed to be fanning into flame.

Each day of the week brought increasing tension between him and the Jewish leaders and eventually with Rome itself. It was a conflict that pitted the kingdoms of the world against the kingdom of God. But whereas most conflicts between kingdoms culminate in war, this one ended in sacrifice as Jesus allowed himself to be nailed to the cross so that everyone—even those that opposed him—would have the opportunity for eternal peace with God.

We invite you to join us this Easter Season as we explore the conflict and the peace of Easter.

On the evening of that day, the first day of the week... Jesus came and stood among them and said to them, “Peace be with you.”
